Anyone But You

is a romantic comedy film directed by Will Gluck and co-written with Ilana Wolpert. Released in December 2023, the movie is loosely based on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and centers on Bea and Ben, played by Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, respectively. The plot follows the classic enemies-to-lovers trope, set against the backdrop of a destination wedding in Sydney, Australia, after a turbulent first encounter between the characters.
The production of Anyone But You involved shooting in various iconic locations across Sydney, such as the Opera House, Bondi's Marks Park, and Palm Beach. The film faced its share of production challenges, including an incident involving a rescue helicopter that necessitated an emergency landing and a scene where Sweeney was bitten by a trained huntsman spider.
Critically, the movie received mixed reviews. While audiences appreciated the chemistry between Sweeney and Powell, leading to a Cinema Score of "B+", critics were more divided. On Rotten Tomatoes, it scored 54% positive reviews, highlighting its entertaining lead performances but critiquing the predictable storyline. Despite this, the film performed well at the box office, grossing over $220 million worldwide.
